Hi! I’m Joanna Sojka (Radziszewska), a lyric-coloratura soprano with a deep love for classical music.
Joanna Sojka (Radziszewska) is a lyric-coloratura soprano. In 2014 graduated with honours from the Academy of Music in Cracow, Poland. In 2016/2017 she studied singing at the Department of Early Music in University of Arts Bremen at the class of Peter Kooij and Katharina Rössner-Stütz.
Prize winner of 3rd International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium” in Poznań, Poland. She won a distinction at the 4th International Competition of Solo Sacred Singing “Ars et gloria” in Katowice, Poland.
The artist performs in Poland and abroad, performing works from the Renaissance to film music. She performed with Sinfonietta Cracovia, Oh! Orkiestra Historyczna, Capella Cracoviensis, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Baroque Collegium 1685, Harmonia Sacra, Weser-Renaissance Bremen, Ensemble Mare Nostrum. Joanna had the opportunity to perform under the baton of such outstanding conductors as Joshua Rifkin, Marc Minkowski, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Vincent Dumestr, Dirk Vermeulen, Dirk Brossé.
So far, the artist has performed the following roles:
- Queen of the Night in the Piccolo Magic Flute at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland;
- Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice by C. W. Gluck, directed by Magdalena Piekorz, with music director Stefan Plewniak at Opera Nova Bydgoszcz, Poland;
- Nina in Il giovedì grasso by G. Donizetti and Serafina in Il campanello by G. Donizetti at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland;
- Celia in Lucio Silla by W. A. Mozart at the Opera RARA festival, with the Capella Cracoviensis orchestra led by Alessandro Moccia;
- Cleone / Une Ombre Heureuse / Une suivante de Phébé in Castor et Pollux by J. Ph. Rameau, directed by Deda C. Colonna and conducted by Benjamin Bayl at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland;
- Eurinda, the Queen of Sicily, in the opera Moro per amore by A. Stradella, staged at the Roman Theater Palazzo Altemps and conducted by Andrea De Carlo;
- Belinda in Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell at the Grand Theatre, Poznań, directed by Paul Esswood;
- Konstanze in Oriental Adventure, based on W. A. Mozart’s opera Die Entführung aus dem Serail KV 384, staged by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland;
- Marzia in J. A. Hasse’s opera Arminio with {Oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna at the City Theater Gliwice, Poland;
- Megacle in the opera L’Olimpiade by A. Vivaldi, conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini in Wrocław.
An important place in the repertoire of the artist is occupied by the following parts: W. A. Mozart – Queen of the Night, Celia, Ismene, Ilia, Zerlina, Susanna; G. Donizetti – Norina; V. Bellini – Elvira ( I Purytani), Amina (Sleepwalker); Ch. Gounod – Julietta (Romeo and Juliet) ; G. Verdi – Gilda (Rigoletto); R. Strauss – Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos); J. Strauss – Adela (Die Fledermaus); J. Offenbach – Olimpia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann); G. F. Handel – Morgana (Alcina), Dalinda (Ariodante), Dorinda (Orlando) as well as oratorios (e.g. Schöpfung, Jahreszeiten, Carmina Burana, Gloria by Poulenc) and songs. The artist has performed with a repertoire of film music. She performed, among others: Vocalise from the movie “The Ninth Gate” by Wojciech Kilar, solo fragments from the soundtracks from “Lord of the Rings”, “Tytus Andronicus”, “Gladiator”, “Inception”, “Princess Mononoke”.
Film music
Since 2009, Joanna has been developing her interest in film music. She performed, among others Vocalise from the movie “The Ninth Gate” by Wojciech Kilar, solo fragments from the soundtracks to the movies “Lord of the Rings”, “Tytus Andronicus”, “Gladiator”, “Inception”, “Princess Mononoke”. By participating in nine editions of the Film Music Festival in Krakow where she performed film music coming out from many iconic film productions and often working with its composers and famous worldclass conductors.
