Hi! I’m Joanna Sojka (Radziszewska), a lyric-coloratura soprano with a deep love for classical music.

Joanna Sojka (Radziszewska) is a lyric-coloratura soprano. In 2014 graduated with honours from the Academy of Music in Cracow, Poland.In 2016/2017 she studied singing in University of Arts Bremen at the class of Peter Kooij and Katharina Rössner-Stütz.

Prize winner of 3rd International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium” in Poznań, Poland. She won a distinction at the 4th International Competition of Solo Sacred Singing “Ars et gloria” in Katowice, Poland.

The artist performs in Poland and abroad, singing a diverse repertoire. She performed with Sinfonietta Cracovia, Capella Cracoviensis, Oh! Orkiestra Historyczna, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Baroque Collegium 1685, Ensemble Mare Nostrum. Joanna had the opportunity to perform under the baton of such outstanding conductors as Joshua Rifkin, Marc Minkowski, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Vincent Dumestr, Dirk Vermeulen, Dirk Brossé.

So far, the artist has performed the following roles: Queen of the Night „Magic Flute” by W. A. Mozart at the Szczecin Opera House, Poland; Euridice „Orfeo ed Euridice” by Ch. W. Gluck dir. Magdalena Piekorz, music director Stefan Plewniak at Opera Nova Bydgoszcz, Poland; Nina “Il giovedi grasso” by G. Donizetti and Serafina “Il campanello” G. Donizetti at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland; Celia “Lucio Silla” by W. A. Mozart at the Opera RARA festival, Capella Cracoviensis orchestra led by Alessandro Moccia; Cleone/ Une Ombre Hereuse/ Une suivante d’Phebe „Castor et Pollux” J. Ph. Rameau director Deda C. Colonna, conducted by Benjamin Bayl at the Warsaw Chamber, Poland; Publia „Aureliano in Palmira” G. Rossini at the Opera RARA festival, Capella Cracoviensis orchestra led by Jan Tomasz Adamus; Abra „Juditha Triumphans” by A. Vivaldi, directed by Maria Sartova, Warsaw Chamber Opera; Eurinda, the queen of Sicily “Moro per amore” by A. Stradella staged in the Roman Theater Palazzo Altemps, conducted by Andrea De Carlo; Belinda „Dido and Aeneas” H. Purcell in Grand Theatre (director – Paul Esswood), Poznań; Konstanze “Oriental adventure” based on the W. A. Mozart opera “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” KV 384 staged by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Poland; Marzia „Arminio”by J. A. Hasse with {Oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, City Theater Gliwice, Poland; Megacle from the opera A. Vivldi „L’ Olimpiade” conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini in NFM Wrocław.

An important place in the repertoire of the artist is occupied by the following parts: Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice) – Ch. W. Gluck; Dorinda (Orlando), Morgana (Alcina) – G.F. Haendel; Queen of the Night, Pamina (The Magic Flute), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Ilia (Idomoneo), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Sifare, Ismene (Mitridate and the King of Pontus) – W. A. Mozart; Elvira (I Puriani), Amina (The Sleepwalker) – V. Bellini; Gilda (Rigoletto) G. Verdi; Juliet (Romeo and Juliet) Ch. Gounod; Zerbinetta (Ariadne on Naxos) – R. Strauss; Adela (Die Fledermaus) – J. Strauss as well as oratorio music including Messiah, Samson, The Creation of the World, Great Mass in C minor KV 427, The Seasons, Carmina Burana, Poulec’s Gloria and Polish and foreign songs.

She worked with such teachers as: Zofia Witkowska, Marek Rzepka, Gillian Webster, Katharina Rössner-Stütz.

Film music

Since 2009, the artist has been developing her interest in film music. The great flexibility of her voice, the ability to sing with a variety of voices emission, and the extraordinary timbre of her voice make the artist feel at home in this repertoire. She has performed vocals from the film The Ninth Gate by Wojciech Kilar, solo fragments from the soundtracks to the films The Lord of the Rings, Tytus Andronicus, Inception, Princess Mononoke. During her performances at the Film Music Festival in Krakow, she had the opportunity to work with world-class conductors and often with the composers of famous film soundtracks.

I love this moment when I feel that the audience has entered my world of emotions, the world of the character being portrayed. The feeling that I can lead people to any world I want gives me freedom and artistic fulfillment as well as real joy of being an opera singer.
